Smells a lot sweeter than it tastes. Flavor is rather simple - malt and bitter. Body is ok. A yawner.

Draft at Beer Authority. Dark brown with a tan head that leaves coating lace on the glass. Roasted malts, caramel, pine hops, and some herbal notes. Balanced malt and hop presence. Soft carbonation, clean, somewhat dry close. Pretty nice example of the style.

very hazy dark orange a small head that is very resilient. the aroma is a pine bomb with a little astringency. Nice force-carbed mouthfeel. very piney, like resinous bomb with a sweetness at middle to finish.

On tap at PNP Charleston. Black with medium light brown head. Aroma is piney hops, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is fairly intense piney hops and some dark malt.

Purchased a 16 oz. can at 7- Eleven, Kittery, ME stamp on bottom reads best by 2/15/2016. Amber / caramel color with lasting head and retention. Aroma is floral, light pine and even a trace of citrus.
The flavor has a nice undertone of pine with a mild malt bill. The hops and malt has a very nice balance. The bitterness is mild but lasting after the sip. Very nice blend of hops and flavor for a gravity under 6%. High drinkability factor. I finished the can extremely easy and wanted another can right away. This not to be undervalued for me.

16oz can. Big foamy off-white head on top of a filtered tan body. Soapy, piny, rindy hop tones of top of a hefty. Pretty straightforward, classic/antiquated IPA. Balanced, no real off tones. OK.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than about thirty seconds. A light foamy to bubbly white lacing stuck around the sides of the glass.
The smell had a semi-sweet to bitter citrus rind, light pine underscored by a light caramel malt base.
The taste was mainly sweet with the bitterness making a good effort to combine but it does have a semi-dry light piney aftertaste leading into a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the wheat to give a bit more body.
Overall, I’d say that I’d have this again, preferably in the Summer when it’s fresh. Right now, it’s too cold for this.

Can. A- Dry cocoa, bitter chocolate, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Roasty, cocoa, slightly bitter, dry, subtle coffee, subtle vanilla. P- Full body, thin texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- The vanilla should have been a lot forward considering it advertised the vanilla on the can yet it was very subdued. Quite dry and roasty and didn’t seem very complex or rich at any point.
