Head gone in seconds "over" pitch-black beer. Vanilla-cake-Sachertorte, speculoos herbs, mocha. Roast/burnt struggling to get past the mocha-cake onslaught. Seriously oversweet, indeed totally pastry-like. Syrupy-sticky, viscous, not very carbonated. Really struggling to get this down. Not my taste. Thanks to Stef!

Can, 0.50l. Aroma is resinous, tropical fruity, herbal and slightly skunky. Pours hazy dark golden color with thin creamy off-white head and fair lacing. Taste starts medium sweet resinous and biscuity, following is refreshing fruity, toasted and herbal, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is heavy bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Rock on...

Can sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Tom L. Black, brown foam. Chocolate, nuts, something artificial, very sweet, caramel, sugary, some soy sauce, a bit umami, bitterish note, alcohol, full-bodied.

Pitch black pour with a velvety tan head. Smoke, ash, toasted coconut, roasted malt, dark roasted coffee, chocolate, subtle maple. A bit weird with all the ash, it's an odd mix with the coconut, but otherwise decent stout.

Can sourced from Beerdome and shared at home (12/09/2020) - light hazy golden orange with a white head. Fruity and malty with notes of citrus fruit, some grapefruit and lemon, straw, grass, toasted sweet bready malty, grassy piney hoppy bitter finish. Pretty decent west coast ipa action.

23rd September 2020 Can. Bright clear amber beer, a good tan head fizzes away at moderate pace. Soft light palate, mildly dry and with modest fine carbonation. Smooth light malts, modest streaks of caramel and malt cream. Bright ripe fruits, a touch of tangy ripe citrus. Light finish. A curious affair. Inoffensive but really quite insubstantial for a barleywine. Bakunin are a good brewery, but this is one they need to work on. A lot.
