Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours cloudy brown with a creamy, tan head. Nice aroma, with notes of toasted malts, chocolate and earth. Medium sweet flavour with some toasted toffee, earthy bitterness, mellow cocoa. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. OK finish, with a bit of brown bread and chocolate. Tasty and enjoyable.

Bottle. Mostly clear Ruby color with fast dying head. Aroma is cherry pie filling with traces of pie crust. Lots of cherry.

Flavor has a nice tart cherry finish and displays a mild amount of smoked malts in the main base. It shows a pretty nice amount of pucker after the swallow. The tartness will be appealing for anybody who enjoys sours. For me the smoke mixed with tartness doesn’t give it a pleasing drinkablity. Just ok.

Smoke and lots of caramelized malt. Amber pour with great head and lacing. Lots of oak - too much for my liking. Tangy and sweet finish with lots of astringency. Tap at whole foods.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Black with bubbly light tan head. Aromas of red wine, dark chocolate, oak, light grapes and berries. Tastes of dark chocolate, red wine, grapes and berries, oak. Medium body with a dry finish. Nice integration of the red wine barrel, not over the top like some red wine barrel aged stouts can be.
