Bottle at a tasting, beers courtesy of Cuso. Easy drinking, citrusy, grassy, overall rather mild, not very intense, somewhere halfway to really good IOA, shy of reaching its potential. Still good and easy drinking though.

Bottle at a tasting, beers courtesy of Cuso. Mostly malty, lightly astringent, some caramel maltiness, slightly metallic too. Not my favourite. Average.

Tap. Mel’s Craft Beer, Vienna. Hazed gold. Thin foam of sticky, white head. Nose has damp grain. Faint hop notes. Not overly appealing, really. Taste is sticky and sweet, as if it’s under attenuated. Sticky on the palate. Fine carbonation. Some bitterness to finish, but mostly this is a sticky mess.

Bottle. Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, lightly buttery, lightly bready. Taste is the same, light berries, quite fruity, rather sweet, a bit yeasty. Mineraly-ish, silky mouthfeel with fine-bubbled carbonation.

A wonderful red lager, vienna style at mel’s craft beer. One of the best in a forgotten style. Crisp but full and tasty on many levels.
