Bottle: Poured a medium amber color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast with some peach flavoured malt and some alcohol. Taste is also dominated by some spicy yeast notes with some nice Belgian malt with some notes of fruit such as peach. Body is a bit thin for the style with too much filtration applied and some alcohol notes are also discernable. Not bad overall for a Inbev products but maybe a bit too much alcohol and sweetness IMHO.

33 cL bottle. Pours deep brown with a light red hue and an off-white and lacing head. Aroma is dark malty with notes of canesugar, some yeast and spices, esteric and a minor note of dried fruit (in a Belgian way). Flavour starts subdued sweet with a light malty note turning slowly bitter and esteric towards the end. At all times mellow/mild. Ends with a creamy malt flavour and a slight bitterness in the far finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear deep amber with a thick creamy light off-white head. Deep malty aroma and a lot of dried fruits. A minor spiced note too. Sweet caramel malty flavour with a lot of cane sugar. Nice balance giving a soft experience from start to finish. Finish is slight warming to burning. Nice by all measures.

I have had this a bunch of times now, a while ago gotmos brought a 750mL back from Belgium, it’s available on tap in the States but this rating was basically a way to pass the time at the Kiev Airport at the Belgian Beer Bar. Poured into glass with a dark brown color and amber tints. It has a large frothy head that turns into a surface covering lacing. Aroma is like the regular Leffe with a very specific "fishiness" and some sugar sweetness behind that. Taste is a cheap sweetness and a bad herbal-ness. Ends with a watery prune flavor. Light bodied and a weird sweet beer. I used to enjoy both Leffes a lot more but have really lost interest in both over the years.

Malzig-frischer Antrunk, der mit der Zeit richtig schwerfällig wird. Ein leichtes Kräuteraroma ist ab dem Mittelteil erkannbar, wirkt aber unangemessen mild neben dem mitlerweile dunklen und klebirgen Malzteil und kann sich daher logischerweise nicht durchsetzen. Dazu kommt eine besonders im Nachgeschmack deutlich erkennbare Alkoholnote, die den feinen Kräuterton endgültig eliminiert. Hefiger Antrunk, bei dem im Hintergrund eine alkoholische Andeutung erkennbar ist. Der etwas scharfe Ton verstärkt sich im Mittelteil, der Alkohol wird sichtbarer. Ein fruchtiger Ton kommt auf, ist aber eher unbedeutuend, da Bier ist allgemein relativ mils bis auf den scharfen Alkoholton. Milder, würzig-alkoholischer Nachgeschmack. Dezent malziger Antrunk mit süßer Beinote, die an dem Malz zu kleben scheint. Eine fruchtige Note wird angedeutet, aber bald wieder verworfen, um der Malzigkeit mehr Platz einzuräumen, der danken eingenommen wird. Hefig-hopfiger Antrunk ohne den säuerlichen Unterton, den ich mir bei Weizenbieren immer so wegwünsche. Dabei bleibt der hefige Ton weiter vorhanden, eine würziger Ton unterstützt dies leicht, er ist fast zu vernachlässigen. Dezent fruchtig mit bitterem Beiton, der passend ist. Dieses Hauptaroma bleibt bis zum Abgang bestehen und dominiert auch hier, auch wenn eine dumpfe Alkoholnote aufkommt. Nettes Bier!
