Strawberry and banana bouquet, not terribly strong. Clear yellow, very thick head. Salty and grainy initially with some barley notes, sweet citrus at midpalate. Decent hop finish. Nice transitions. Speaking as someone not fond of the belgian styles, this is a reasonably good gateway to Belgiian beers. It’s cheap and isn’t overpowering. This should be everyone’s first Belgian.

Bottle. Pours orangish-gold with a fairly long-lasting head. Aroma is fruity, with wheat and banana coming through. Tasted a bit off. Standard blonde ale taste, with a sweet aftertaste (and beforetaste) that is not pleasant. Otherwise, a fairly easily drinkable beer.

Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy and brown color ale with a great big foamy head with some good retention and some lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with some nice Belgian malt. Taste was to be honest a little bit disappointing with a watery body and a unrefined sugar taste that didn’t do much for me. The body is watery with some great carbonation and a nice creamy texture. I’m not the biggest fan of this brewery but I have to admit that this beer featured some great characteristics but lack some cohesion and a malt profile to hold the whole thing together.

330ml bottle. Golden brown body with an off-white head. Sweet perfumed malty aroma with some caramel. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel, candy sugar, alcohol and overripe apple. This beer is complex but not necessary well balanced. Maybe a few years in the cellar may do the trick.

On tap at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Crafton. Clear darker brown rootbeer appearance. Thin creamy head. Mild sweetish candy aroma. Aroma reminds me of Corsendonk in it’s own peculiar way. Barley any (if any) carbonation greets the palate. The brew at times comes across with a certain wine like character with it’s lack of carbonation. . This is about on par with the Leffe Blonde as far as enjoyability goes. The Blonde may be a tad better. Has a medium bitterness that build thru the session. Beautiful lacing, just enough to let you peak thru to the nakedness of this brew.

Brown bottle, 33 cl, best before 08/03/09, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savoured on September 20 2007; eye: amber with a reddish hue and caramel reflections, clear, average effervescence, nice creamy fluffy tan head, good lacing; nose: yeast, banana, caramelized malt, fruity, spices (with one reminding me of clove); mouth: creamy, light, caramelized malt, nice hops, grainy malt with a hint of acridness, a bit of spices (including clove), Belgian yeast is well present almost throughout the sip, surprising fanale where the banana dominates to be replaced by a nice hops mixed with caramel, lightly sweet, mildly bitter, medium body, not that carbonated; overall: very good FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 33 cl, meilleure avant 08/03/09, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savourée le 20 septembre 2007; œil : ambrée avec une teinte rougeâtre et des reflets caramels, claire, effervescence moyenne, belle mousse havane crémeuse et nuageuse, belle dentelle; nez : levure, banane, malt caramélisé, fruitée, épices (dont un ressemblant au clou de girofle); bouche : crémeuse, légère, malt caramélisé, bon houblon, malt granuleux avec une légère âcreté, un peu d’épices (dont le clou de girofle), la levure belge est bien présente pendant presque toute la gorgée, surprenante finale où la banane domine pour être remplacé par la suite par un petit houblon mêlé de caramel, légèrement sucrée, moyennement amère, corps moyen, peu carbonatée; en résumé : très bonne

0.33L bottle. Nice clear brown colour. Small and stable head. Aroma of sweet malt. Alcoholic presence too strong with some spicines behinde it. Finish quite short.

Pours golden blond with a thick, white, velvety head. Strong aroma that is fruity, malty and a little spicy. Full, powerful flavour for a blond. It’s a little dry and yeasty with underlying fruit flavours.
