Description
The Hönig brewery in Tiefenellern has an old tradition. The brewery and the inn "Zur Post" have been family-owned since 1778. The brewing right has existed since 1478 and can be documented.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass with a nice head. Mild malty-spicy aroma. Starts mild, malty, light sweetish. Grasy hints, some herbs. Light yeasty touch. Finish well balanced. Quite drinkable. Not bad!

Smooth, slightly sweetish and malty with some breadiness, grass, hay and earthiness, hints of honey.

Bottle from Rewe Bamberg and drunk with Nelson deep gold beer slight haze lasting cream head. Some malt I'm the mouth some honey sweetness. Light hop on the finish. A slightly malty kellerbier with some decent sweetness and a building hop presence on the finish. It's super drinkable as Mark said.

Klare goldgelbe Farbe, mittelporige mäßig stabile Schaumkrone. In der Nase ausgeglichen, hellmalzig und blumig-hopfige. Im Geschmack ebenfalls relativ malzig, eher trocken, deutliche gut integrierte Hopfenbittere, schlanker Körper, eher wenig Kohlensäure, ziemlich süffig. Insgesamt sehr stimmig.

Für ein Festbier eine überraschende haselnussbraune Farbe, gemischtporige relativ stabile Schaumkrone; in der Nase sehr malzig (Blockmalz), leicht würzig, schokoladig und ein süßlicher Eindruck; im Geschmack dominiert ganz klar das Malz, auch leicht röstmalzig, deutliche Süße, leicht würzig, etwas Karamell, mittlerer Körper, zunächst milde im Nachtrunk jedoch deutliche Bittere, flacht am Ende leider etwas ab. Insgesamt ein stimmiges, süffiges Bier.
