Cask @ The Admiral Benbow, Shrewsbury. Pumpclip says "flamboyant and unpredictable" but this tastes like standard Six Bells bitter to me, well balanced but just a touch staid and under-hopped.

Hand-pulled pint in The White Lion, Wellington, Shropshire on 25th Jan 2014. Good looking dark brown brew with a creamy head in texture and colour. Roasted malts with a semi-burnt twist in both the nose and taste. Fairly smooth feel to the body, full of dark wintery fruit flavours within the over roasted maltiness. Big Nev has sold the brewery and pub I believe: I’ll miss his beers and I hope the new people brew beers as good as this.

Cask @ The Cock Hotel, Wellington, Shropshire. Autumn forest aroma with lovely smooth dark malts, raisins, currants, Christmas Pudding and a nice nutty finish. A great blend, probably the best i’ve had from this brewery.

Two hand-pulled pints in The Cock Hotel, Wellington on 28th Dec 13: before watching AFC Telford v Boston Utd play football. Light amber body with a creamy head. The nose and taste were semi-dry and bitter with fruit and floral notes also in both senses. It also had a trace of spiciness, but I’ve no idea what might have been added, not much of what ever it was, but just enough to give the beer ’an edge’. Good body feel and overall a pleasant and easy to drink beer, just like all of Big Nev’s brews.

500ml bottle. Howdo! There’s something a little wrong but oh so right about the name and ’Bullseye’ inspired artwork for this beer. Like I’ve stepped back in time 20 years to a land of proper pubs, where men played darts and drank proper pints of bitter. And this is a proper pint. Rusty brown in colour, with some great malts at the forefront, the Goldings hops combining to give a nice rounded character. Cheers mon.

Gravity poured direct from the barrel at the 22nd Festival At The Edge over the weekend of 20-21 July 2013: I was working in the CAMRA tent and ensured I had plenty of this golden and refreshing beer on a regular basis. True golden body with a full white head on every pour. Perfumed nose: floral hops I suppose. There is a dry hop lead that turns maltier in the middle before a lingering hop finish: most enjoyable. Easy to drink and flavoursome: a good session ale.

Hand-pulled pint on 22 Jun 2013 in The Haygate, Wellington, Shriopshire. Bright golden bodied beer with a full head of white, tight bubbles. Floral hop aroma with hints of Pale Malts: the taste is also floral and again with a Pale Malt feel in the flavours. Traces of citrus notes, but this isn’t one of those golden citrus brews that are flooding the UK market currently. Average body depth and easy to drink, a pleasant session ale.
