Description
We brouwen ons bier volgens de slogan "Beer for Thought".

Bottle @ WWT IV. Clear reddish color, no head. Smell and taste lightly sour, a hint of fruitpeel, very dry, a but bretty. Pretty decent. -- Re-rate June 25th 2015: Bottle (thanks Roel!) @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus, Judyvv and Joes. Hazy reddish color, small off-white head. Smell and taste red fruits, wood, fruitpeel sour-bitter, perhaps even a slight sweetish touch in the background. Quite nice I’d say. Not my style at all but I quite like this one. Well done. 7-3-8-3-15.

Hazy orange colour. Aroma of orange peel. Flavour is quite yeasty and also bitter. I can’t really taste honey. It’s not particularly sweet. Low carbonation. Lasting bitter finish.

Re-rate @ weekly tasting, shared with Dutchdrebus. Got a bottle from the brewer who asked me to re-rate this beer, as I had clearly purchased a bad bottle. Really appreciate the gesture. I’ve had brewers emailing me basically yelling and demanding that I would remove my rating because their beer wasn’t bad at all. But when I replied "sure, send me a bottle" they got furious. How on earth did I dare to ask that? Uh ok, maybe because you sold me the bad one in the first place? Anyway, I am very pleased with how this brewer handled it. Always respectful and cooperative, not demanding anything just a polite request. Bonus points for that I’d almost say. But hey, here we go. Hazy yellow to orange color, average to medium sized white to off-white head. Aroma is lightly malts, nicely hoppy with some tropical fruit in there. Taste lightly malts, lightly hops, a slightly weird touch of red fruit in the distance. Get that in the aroma too now that the beer has warmed up a bit. A slight perfumy hint as well. Body is ok for a session IPA, carbonation is soft yet suitable. Way better than last time, so thanks for the chance to re-rate, but there is still room for improvement. [Bottle @ home. Clear amber color, medium sized off-white head that lasts for a decent while and leaves fair lacing. Aroma is weird: like some artificial strawberry juice, very strong sweetness. Taste fortunately has less of the artificial strawberry but still isn’t very good. I have no idea what caused this. It is supposed to be a hoppy session ale right? Well it might be a session ale, but it is an artificial sweet fruit beer. I drainpoured it. Original rating: 3-3-4-2-7=1.9]

Bottle from het Biermoment, 2014 version, about half a year old I think, large sample. Dark brown color, medium creamy brown head. Aroma of roast, slight ash, leather, some bretty notes. Slight sour in taste, bit lactic, bit sweet. Some bitterness as well in between the lactic and citric acid notes, strawberry, orange. Quite interesting brew. Quite complex, but also quite harsh on the sour notes.

3(30)ml bottle. Clear, dark copper colour with average to huge, thick, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Funky, bretty aroma, typical Hubba Bubba bubblegum notes, some caramel malt, very cautious, fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of mandarine and orange. Taste is slighty sweet caramel malty, minimally bitter hoppy overtones, some resin, mild, dry, bretty notes. This seems to be one of the luckiest infections in the history of brewing.

Red brown colour. Very malty. Sweet but not overly so. Hard to believe that it’s 11.3%. Soft and smooth with a gentle warm finish.
