Description
Once known as Samuel Allsopp & Sons, Jamie Allsopp, the great-great-great-great-great grandson of Samuel, believes that the delicious beers of Allsopp’s are too good to be consigned to the history books.

All beers are brewed at Kirkstall Brewery, Leeds.

He consolidated the scattered trademarks and found possibly the only remaining ledger containing the authentic recipes.

The revived company commenced test brewing in 2020, staying as close as possible to the original recipes.

Keeping up the Allsopp’s tradition of launching into the teeth of a storm.

440ml can between 5 at the 31st May 2026 Bandstand Beer Gathering in Shrewsbury. Cheers Mark for this new 'blast from the past'. Poured with a slight haze and a white topping on each glass. Not how I remember it of course, but it's refreshing and easy to swill, just like the original version. Bitter with a semi sweetness, but not much going on really.

Cask at the Audley, Mayfair. It pours clear copper - brown with a thick, bubbly off - white head. The aroma is fairly mellow... brown bread, bitter - sweet, caramel, raisin loaf and leafy vibes. The taste is firmly dry initially, then mellows, bitter - sweet, woody, sappy, resin, leather, toasted nut, slightly grassy/leafy, touch of spice and mild tannin with a drying, toothy finish. Average body and moderate cask carbonation. Don't think it would stand out in a crowd, but it drinks fine.

Cask at the Duke of St Albans, Highgate on 25th April 2026. Deep copper with shallow off-white foam and scant lacing. Biscuit malt aroma. Nutty malts, sweet fruits and citrus peel in-mouth, and a velvety finish of citrus zest and maltiness. Smooth mouthfeel and plenty of body. Very agreeable, pleasant IPA.

cloudy yellow, smooth medium white head
flowery hoppy aroma almost grapefruit with sugar and green grapes. in fact quite hoppy, hops are driving the aroma. also cereral malts, but at least dry and crisp.
flavor is slightly bitter (malty bitter) very fait flowery note from hops - while aroma had lots of hops, flavor has nearly none, only some fairly tasteless hoppy bitternes. Nevertheless an eas drinking lowish alc beer, definetly sessionable.slightly bready in a way that suits it well. you could do many pints of this easily.

Can. Too young for the original.

Nose is tangerine, citrus, ripe mango. Pleasent. Taste follows, with light mango, hints of tangerine, malt, and a lightly bitter finish. It's solid and better than I'd assumed given the infamous brand name.
