Description
Chapter Brewing is smashing its way through the canon of craft, creating beers inspired by the innovation and playfulness of the written word. At the brewery we dive into experimental works as well as having well-thumbed and ever-present favourites in our Library.

Distributing nationally from our base in Sutton Weaver, you’ll find Chapter beers in cask, keg and small-pack with each lending their own unique characteristics to the brew. Hosting not only incredible artwork from local artist Boneface, Chapter’s labels offer a reading suggestion in lieu of a food pairing which allows the drinker, if so inclined, to read the texts that influenced the beer.

So all that remains is the eternal question: mark your page or squeeze in one more Chapter?

Keg draught at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Reddish brown and hazy with a ring of beige head. Aroma is bedeck'd with spicy yeast, toffee, boozy dates. Sweet taste, noticeably spicy with delectable stone fruit leading to a finish that is surprisingly bitter, and surprisingly dry. Aftertaste gives more date and plum with a bitter almost medicinal twist. Body not up to much for the ABV but the heavy carbonation makes up for that. Nice.

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Light to mid-yellow/gold and hazy with a loose white head. Light tropical fruit, some citrus, some cream in the aroma. Nicely balanced bitter-sweet taste, lots of flavourful fruity hop to the fore. Finishes more bitter with notes of orange and kumquat peel in the aftertaste. Body is a little watery. Soft carbonation. All in all quite good.

Cask @ Port Street Beer House of Manchester. Hazy amber with a small head. It's an easy strength brew that's dry tasting with a bland hoppy-fruitiness.

Cask @ Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Dark amber with a glow. It has a session texture and grainy malts, and a potent nose in this respect too.

Keg @ Beatnikz Republic Bar, Manchester. Cloudy golden-amber with a head. Citrus hoppy ale with a good body. Not too bitter, not too sweet.

Keg @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Light golden with a mild lager quality, but with enough ‘kolsch’ styling to please - but personally not a big fan.

Keg @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. It looks like a cloudy deep-red red-berry brew, but it certainly has a blackberry taste with a sweetened berry nose. There’s nothing too sour here.
