0.75 l bottle from 'Het Huis van de Geuze', 2023 vintage. Slightly hazy, golden with a medium large, slightly fluffy, quickly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, heavily funky and rather fruity aroma of overripe lemon, apple, quite some horse blanket, gooseberry and some oak. A little sweetish, gently sour, fairly dry, quite funky and rather fruity taste of horse blanket, apple, oak, overripe lemon, a touch of gooseberry and hints of white pepper, followed by a medium long, gently tart, fairly woody-dry finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Superbly crafted beverage, quite complex but also highly drinkable. Serves perfectly as an apéritif, or just as a thirst-quencher in the summer.

Thin bod, low carbo. Medium sour, pretty equal perceived balance of acetic and lactic. Med-light tartness. Very good balance. Assertive farmhouse, wood, and med-light violet spice. An elegant mix. Quite good.

31 December 2025. New Year’s Eve tasting - cheers to all! Bottle from Sandersput.
A: clear golden, small, frothy, off-white head.
A: lemon peel, lime zest, gooseberry, green apple, moist white pepper, yellow cherry tomato.
T: sour lemo, green apple, plum, some salty tomato.
F: tart lemon, vague chili hint, slightly bitter and perfumey.
P: medium body, moussy texture, fizzy carbonation.
Interesting blend of flavours, but maybe I expected a bit more intensity.

Pinkish-red-orange beer with almost no head after an eyeblink. Fruity, vinous, sweet apples, bit putteke, other sour fruit, rhubarb. Sharp sourish flavour, going over into apple, and indeed scrumpy. Bit winegrapes too, if too sharp for wine - unless maybe for a non-vitifera wine. Acidburn and -thinning, better carbonated than it looks. Dry-out effect but refreshing. Goes back and forth between lambic and cider; dry despite the applesugars.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours darkish blonde, with scarce foam. Aroma is funky, a little winey. Body is average, with little carbonation. Taste is medium sour. Final is still entertaining, with a fairly long duration.

(Draft at Billie's Bier Kafétaria, Antwerpen, 18 Sep 2025) Golden amber colour, slightly hazy, with brief head. Fruity nose with funky yeast, oak wood, citrus, peaches and light floral aromas. Fruity, tart taste with notes of apricots, orange peel, oak wood, yeast, roses and a finish with a balanced acidity. Hardly any bitterness. Medium body, dry. Tart, refreshing and well balanced. Very nice.

Sampled at Billies, day 2. Clear very pale golden color, no head. Aroma is extremely weird, petrol-ish. Flavor is similar, spices, petrol. Yuk. Disgusting. 7-2,5-2-5-2
