Description
At the gateway to the Sequoia National Forest, Kern River Brewery is Kernville's only brewpub. This makes KRBC much more than just a restaurant; it's an attraction in itself.

The Kern River Brewing Company is a privately owned “S” Corporation and is managed by a three-member board of directors. The business of the company is the production of fresh high-quality beer and food in a fun, comfortable environment. Kyle Smith, Eric Giddens and Rebecca Giddens make up the perfect combination to do just that.

65 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. Aroma is actually outstanding with lots of tropical fruits and some resin. Flavour has tropical fruits, juicy tones and mild oaty malt. Also pineapple juice. Finishes with grapefruit and mild herbal bitterness. Nice and easy to drink.

650ml bottle

Pours copper orange with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of juicy tropical fruits, loads of hops, citrus, lemon, grass and caramely maltiness. Taste is malty, hoppy and juicy fruity with loads of grass, citrus, pine and resin. Finish is hoppy, piney and resinous with some caramely malts and grassy notes. Quite tasty.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a hazy orange color with a medium thick off-white head that diminishes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and grainy malt. Full-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, sweet malt and pine. The finish is chewy and moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a hazy yellow-orange color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Citrus, piney hops and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of resiny hops, grapefruit and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering fruity hops aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roast malt, hops and pine. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, resiny hops and a hint of tropical fruit. The finish is malty up front with a piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, fruit and grainy malt. The finish is fruity with a yeast and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with a dank hoppy character and flavors of citrus and malt in the background. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Dark brown color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Light-bodied with a roasty malt and coffee character with some bittersweet chocolate in the background. The finish is sweet with a charred malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draught @ OBriens. Rated on 25.08.2015. Aroma is sweet with fruit candy, resin and some caramel. Flavour has fruit juice, some herbal bitterness and mild resiny malt. A bit flat palate. Juicy and good.

Pours dark orange with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of caramely malts, toffee, hops, grass and resin. Taste is caramely malts, hoppy and resinous with loads of grassy hops. Finish is hoppy, malty and crisp. Tasty.
