Description
At the gateway to the Sequoia National Forest, Kern River Brewery is Kernville's only brewpub. This makes KRBC much more than just a restaurant; it's an attraction in itself.
The Kern River Brewing Company is a privately owned “S” Corporation and is managed by a three-member board of directors. The business of the company is the production of fresh high-quality beer and food in a fun, comfortable environment. Kyle Smith, Eric Giddens and Rebecca Giddens make up the perfect combination to do just that.

Burbon, burnt raisin, brown sugar, full body. Fairly big and boozy, sweet but not overly complex. Lingering bourbon finish. Meh not bad but doesn’t rock my world.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear pale orange color witha medium white head that diminishes steadily. Small sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a floral hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle at Hamilton’s Tavern, SD, 12/11/14. Golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is citric peel, bitter orange, light pine, grapefruit. Taste comprises caramel malt, pine, orange pith, straw, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with hop bitterness well represented. Decent IPA but fell a little short of my expectations.
