About
Jorre Vanhemmens is a young brewer from Belgium. When he was 16, he wrote a school paper about beer. 10 years later, he’s Head Brewer at Alvinne Brewery, world-famous for its excellent sour beers. In 2018 he’s launching a beer and mead line of his own special recipes created with lots of love and dedication under the name De Mederie.

Pours a dark, clear bronw. No head. Scent is honey, roasty, milkchocolate; Taste is sharp, mildly acidic, caramel, perfectly balanced, as was the first version.

Draft at Billie's Craft Beer Festival 2022. Listed as Batch 2. Clear brown color, tan edge head. Floral roasty aroma. Taste is sweet light roast. OK

Sweet honey, figs, sweet white wine, raisins, plums. Solid sweet, light sour. Not really my thing.

Clear amber to red brown mead, small creamy off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, caramel, dried fruits MF: soft carbon, full to medium body. Taste: very sweet start, lots of honey, sugary, alcohol, dried fruits, oxidized, very sweet. Aftertaste: lots of overripe banana, honey, alcohol, a bit oxidized, fruity touch, lots of raisins, caramel, decent!

Pours a clear, darker copperamber. Mild red glow. Scent is fairly intense. Apple up front, some tannins from the barrel. Taste is sharp, very dry. Mild tartness. Mild on the barrel and berries. OK, not the most complex base it seems.

Bottle passed around @MBCC 2022, Red Session. Cloudy pale golden, no head. Honey and light wood aroma. Sweet flavour, honey, light rum warmth.
