Description
Ārpus Brewing Co. is an independent microbrewery, founded in 2017 by craft beer geeks from Latvia. We brew what we love - juicy hop forward ales, fruity sour beers and bold imperial stouts - and we’re proud that Ārpus Brewing Co. is voted as #1 brewery in the Baltic States on Untappd.

We chose Latvian word Ārpus for the name of our brewery, as its meaning reflects the types of beers we brew - outside the box, beyond the mass made lagers, beers with overwhelming flavours and aromas for people brave enough to step out of their comfort zone.

The brewery is located just outside Riga (Latvia), equipped with a 10hL brewhouse and 20hL fermentation vessels. Our beer is packaged in 440mL cans and KeyKegs, then stored in a cold room to keep it fresh longer.

Taster at home courtesy of Sander, big thanks. light yellow murky color, small white head. smells citric, grassy, pines, tobacco, oats mango. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes sweet, oats, grassy, mango, piney, peppery, light hop burn, bit leathery. finishes medium bitter with notes of oats, grassy and leathery notes. nice one, balance is not that great though.

Can. Light haze on this gold beer, the can opens lively, but not really a gusher. No surprise that it throws quite a large pale cream colour head. Palate light, a tad thin really, mildly dry and with a good minerally crisp bite. Thin malts bring a reasonable sweetness. Crisp minerally hop born citrus. Bright orange and mandarin but a little thin and minerally. Whisper of citrus peel before a crisp finish. The bones of a decent dipa here but it's a bit thin and minerally.

Can from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury - shared with BlackHaddock and ImDownThePub Nose is dominated by grapefruit – with other citrus barely getting a look in. Pours a murky golden yellow with a small white head. Grapefruit again in mouth, along with some hops, melon and a hint of ginger. Finish is more bitter lemon than anything else. Not for me – yuck !

440ml can, shared with Glen and Martin in Chez Sophie on 26th July 2020. Cloudy yellow body, thin white head. Very dry finish to this interesting brew. Grape and bittering citrus notes rule the taste, the nose being it's weak point with only a faint hop aroma for me.

Can. An unclear yellow beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of hops and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of exotic fruits, hops, and malt, leading to a btter finish.
