330ml bottle from a Waitrose store in Peterborough. Shared with Finn on a train to Leicester. Lacing rings from a patchy white surface. Oily hops on the nose. Blended taste profile of leafy hops and mild caramel notes. Hints of resinous bitterness to the ending. Fine depth. Pretty good. (11.02.2019).

Cask at Pigs Ear 2018, day one, 04/12/18. Hazed reddish amber with a decent beige covering that retains well. Nose is stewed fruits, acetic, pissy tones, vinous trace, berry fruits. Taste comprises medicianl notes, phenols, smokey linger, stewed frutis, cake mix, Laphroaig tang, barrel tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. A tad mixed up ... very slow sipper but doesn't work for me.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2018 - Hackney, London. Day 2. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy tan head. A real beast, loads of peat character, scorched earth and pine, molasses, tar, alcohol, cocoa. Full bodied, poly and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm/hot finish with sticky burnt sugars, buckets more pear, torched pine, earth, charred orange rind. The pear is the dominant character here - if you like that you'll enjoy the beer.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Hazy orange amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Weird fruits, tastes peaty barrel. Ripe fruits. Citric peel, ripe. Smooth finish. Weird!
