Bottle at home from Waitrose. A murky and lively pour. The taste was a bit rough and unformed with loads of hops and a pitched battle between sweet and bitterness. This had a really thick texture and I came to the conclusion that this was not for me as the sweetness came to the fore towards the end. It shows a lot of promise and I look forward to seeing how they develop.

[ As Uprising Wasteland ].Clear medium orange amber colour with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light toffee, moderate to heavy hoppy, dried fruit, fruity hops, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, pale malt, dried fruit, alcohol, sweet hops, fruity hops, orange. Cask gravity at the Pig's ear beer festival 05/12/2017. A clear mid mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose tan head. Aroma is big phenolic malts, smokey, tcp. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chewy dried fruits, cakey malts, smooth smokey malts, low TCP notes in the finish. I like it. Palate is chewy semi sweet, solvent. Lingering jammy fruits.

Cask gravity at the Pig's ear beer festival 05/12/2017. A clear mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose tan halo of head. Aroma is woody oak, boozy dried fruit, hot alcohol. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, dried fruits, chewy cakey malts, boozy fruit cake and solvent. Palate is chewy boozy, moderate carbonation, warming alcohol finish.

Cask at Pig’s Ear 2017. It pours clearish golden with a white head. The aroma is sweaty, oily, wood, dull citrus fruits, grapefruit rind, resin and some apricot & peach. The taste is dry, biter, oily, resinous, grapefruit, orange peel, pretty pithy, zesty, straw, wet grass and dried florals vibes through the finale. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Certainly wouldn't have clocked this blind as such of a low abv. Decent.

Cask Gravity at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours jet black with a medium bubbly off-white/beige head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, medicinal, meaty, peated whisky, smoke, earth, wood and roasted malt. The taste is rich roasted malt, charred wood, warming, medicinal, peat smoke, oily, resin, cherry cola, blueberry muffin, tar and boozy heat through the finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth -feel. Solid work. I think the Laphroaig is a good step - up from the Irish Pot Swill[sic].

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours darkest brown - black with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is earthy, smoke, charred wood, bonfire, meatiness, roasted malt, whiskey and cocoa. The taste is slick, chewy, charred wood, spice, oiliness, whiskey, tar, burnt toffee, warming alcohol, tannin wood, whiskey, resin, black tea and liquorice with a dry and chewy finish. Medium - full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth -feel. Pretty punchy stuff. Good fun.

Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Clear golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is tangerine, straw, juicy hops, soft breads, light pine. Taste comprises orange pith, apricot jam, pine tingle, toasted grains, straw, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with juicy hop bitterness. Exceptional session gear for the ABV !

Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Rich black with a decent tan head. Nose is big on peated malts, smoke, spice, charr, chocolate, ash, medicinal notes. Taste comprises a good layer of Laphraoig ... good balance ... no shortcuts, peated malts, black peppery spice, charr, mellow roast, cocoa powder, toffee, dried fruits. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick of booze. Solid peated impy.
