Description
Odyssey is a small family run brewery established in the rural surrounds of a National Trust estate in Herefordshire in 2014. We brew in a building that is at least 400 years old but our beers are modern and forward looking.

Because we are small, independent and committed to staying that way, we focus primarily on only two styles of beer - hop forward (of any colour) and big, indulgent stouts, with the occasional Barley Wine thrown in for good measure. Our hoppy beers are unfined and hazy but we seek to retain some bitterness and drinkability - East Coast brews with a West Coast vibe.

All of our beer is produced for keg or can.

Bottle from, Eebria, consumed at home Thursday 9th June 2016 Dark hazy gold)light amber in colour with a clean white head. Maltiness on the nose, a touch of butter, just a slight hint. Soft in the mouth and lots of curly, fuzzy hops, really coating the tongue with a soft sweet easy going lemony edge. Another very good beer. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

The hop bill is mental. I need a lie down.

Bottle via Eebria consumed at home Sunday 22nd May 2016 at home whilst cooking Haddock, Chorizo and Chickpea Stew. Pours orangey gold heading to amber with a white head a bit hazy also. Fruity and quite juicy with citrus fruits coming to the fire before heading for a drying finish. Remarkable flavour and even some body which really surprised me in such a low strength beer. Easily my favourite of the day from Odyssey. Sweet streaky orange good flurry of bitterness, really liking this a lot. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Had this again (probably 18-24 month old) consumed at home Thursday 26th October 2017 Tasted really good better than I recall, soft, chocolatey, cocoa with a really good fruity tang. Murky cocoa brown in colour with a nice off-white creamy textured head.A touch of powdery cocoa, but also getting a few hoppy burps. Soft mouthfeel, a touch of creamy cocoa and chocolate, malty and a bit biscuity, fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle via Eebria consumed at home Sunday 22nd May 2016 at home whilst cooking Haddock, Chorizo and Chickpea Stew. Another hazy amber beer, with a large foamy white head. Not getting a lot on the nose, however I have had a cold for the last week, so my sense of smell has taken a bit of a hit. I am getting a lot more citrus than tropical flavours with this beer. A bit of soapy hops, the body is lacking a little but then to be fair we are only 4.5% this time compared to the 7.4% Devil May Care that we’ve just shared. Its a nice beer reminds me a little of neck oil, I should have done a comparison as Loz got a case of them in this week for the festivals this summer. Like this, its a really decent summer sessioner. Bottle via Eebria consumed at home Sunday 22nd May 2016 at home whilst cooking Haddock, Chorizo and Chickpea Stew. Pours hazy dark amber, really quite hazy in fact, with an off-white head atop.Fruity nose, more accurately its like an overipe slight tropical fruit nose, no one particular fruit jumping out at me though. Nice soft carbonation, fruity with a bitter edge and slight rough, messy fruitiness (citrus) lingers somewhat, the sweetness soon gives away to a lengthy bitterness, though it isn’t that bitter. I like it, but its not quite up there with some of the other Odyssey beers that I have had. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Bottleshare at Lancaster Gate. Thanks to Fergus. Hazy gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, dry and with mild creamy sweetness. Mild hop spice. Pine. Mellow hop skunk and citrus. Airy semi dry finish. Mellow but good hop character.
