Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Deep gold in colour, with a decent, white, head. Plenty of grassy hops, tangerine and grapefruits, crisp balancing malts, before a dryish, hoppy finish. Good.

Can from Total Wine, Bellevue. Unclear golden-orange with a sheeting head and strong lace. Pale malt, dough, a little honey. Floral and grassy notes. Pretty bright and clean, mildly bitter. Nice honey sweetness. I like it.

Draft 12 oz pour at the new new Tankard and Tun. A dark-ish copper pour that had me wondering if the correct beer was poured. Not quite what I expect in the style, but I'll do my best not to judge. Hop heavy aroma, though metallic over citrus. Flavor is a sturdy caramel malt, extra sweet for my usual liking. Biting bitterness. A decent IPA, but I'd call it far from what could be considered a hazy IPA. Has the creaminess to help. I guess I'm just confused with this beer. Too sweet, and has some odd features to it, but overall it's not bad.

22 oz bottle poured, shared by Matt. Thanks! Dark brown, bear black pour. Thick cream, lasting foam head. Flavor definitely beats out the aroma. Metallic coffee grains. Flavor is smoother. Milk chocolate. Coffee roast. Hints of vanilla. Smooth and soft sweet finish. Pretty good stout.

Tap@Pike. I remember drinking this beer back in college when I first started my craft beer journey. Pours opaque black, medium creamy tan head, dispatching slowly with good lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, Baker's cocoa, molasses, hint of chicory, ash. Flavors is light sweet, medium plus bitter that lingers into the far finish. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Pretty solid straight stout. Welcome change from the pastry variety (all though full disclosure I love those too).

Black, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts. Malty flavour, light bitter. Malty finish, roasted malts, dark bread crust and burned caramel. Decent, but too roasty for me.

Thanks to Hamirubi! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG17. Black, little head. Nose is herbal cacao, chocolate, overly roasted malt. Thick herbal cacao, chocolate, heavy roast, low burned malts,… Bitter cacao bodied. Too roasted for me & not as thick as you would hope, expected more from a beer that is top 50 in its style.
