Bottle from Hippo Beers. It pours deep orange with a medium off-white head. The nose is juicy, stewed orange, tangerine, brown bread, light spice, cereal and marmalade. The taste is crisp, bitter, earthy, spicy, rye bread, grapefruit rind, orange, light soap, toast and cereal with lingering dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good deal of bitterness. Balance works rather well.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of coffee, ash, fig and Terry’s chocolate orange. Flavour of dark chocolate, Coco Pops dust, roasted malts and a hint of orange. Medium body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. A tasty Porter - almost strong and hoppy enough to be a Black IPA.
