16oz can pours a cola brown, some beige, lacey head. Looks right. Nose has cocoa and cola, nuts, brown bread. Flavor follows. Quite simple. Chewy nuts and bread. Marzipan. Brown sugar. Its a bit bigger than it needs to be which leads to it being a bit sweet. 8 6.5 6 6 6

16oz can pours a clear gold, a little chill haze maybe, fizzy white head. Nose has a little green hop, then some malt and corn, grass, yeast. Flavor has a little metal then very clear malt and grist, nice hop character, lemon and grass. Mostly dry with some bite. Decent. 6 6.5 6.5 6 6

On tap at City Tap, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma has lots of rye/brown bread, toffee, caramel, and English bready malt. Flavour is much the same, with lots of English bready malt, a touch of dry toffee, and fermented out caramelized sugar. Nice English malt profile. Solid.

Can to lager glass.
Appearance: dark brown with some light red hues along the sides of the glass but looks closer to black in the glass.
Aroma: cocoa powder, dark roasted tones, slight black coffee, dark breadiness and sweet earthiness
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bitter to roasty quality with a dry finish of the cocoa powder and earthiness
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; light smoothness but also some dryness gripping to the tongue
Overall: pretty nicely done dark lager I could return to.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark pink to somewhat copper/purpled hued with a quarter finger of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: tart and sweet mixed berries with a light lemony sweet to tart hoppiness; subtle funk
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a tart to sweet quality with that funky aroma I previously smelled seems to be lying much lower here; finishes berry-ish and lemony
Texture: medium bodied, leaning to be a sipper; light smoothness but that funky and tart vibe seems to come back to provide a subtle sour assertiveness here
Overall: is this a sour IPA or possibly a farmhouse IPA? It might be, but I can still see myself coming back to this.

Can to mug.
Appearance: clean yellow color with a one finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: swift clean biscuity malts with some super light grassy/floral hops
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet malty quality; finishes the same way
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness over the tongue
Overall: nice enough as a clean lager I wouldn't mind banging again while grilling or fishing.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two finger khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee, roasted coffee tones; dark chocolate and some dark wet grains
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine bitter to roasty and sweet quality
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but not too much as some of the roastiness seems to grind into the tongue
Overall: for the most part, this was a nice coffee porter I believe I could return to.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two and a half fingers of tan foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted coffee tones, dark chocolate, sweet earthy & nutty whiffs and a clean caramel/biscuity maltiness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine roasty to sweet quality; finishes roasty, earthy and caramel-y
Texture: medium bodied, slightly sessionable, some smoothness with ample amount of dryness
Overall: I liked this porter for me but it certainly was an odd one.
