Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

BIAB at Darlington Beer Festival 2025. Red orangey colour, afew bubbles on top and aroma of cherry, apple. Taste is sweet, cherry, apple, fruity, some fleshy notes and tartness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet cherry finish. Quite drinkable

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers! Aroma of sweet apple with hints of citrus and caramel. Taste is more of the same but it is a little bit thin and does not really follow through.

Bottle from Ladrum Bay Holiday Park, Budleigh Salterton. Clear gold with a brief fizz. Apple pith and light leather/funk aroma. Taste is more fruity and sessionable than the aroma suggests. Mid-sweet, apple skins and pith. Medium bodied, semi-drying. Good.

Bottle from Ladram Bay Holiday Park, Devon. Clear gold with some brief foam. Apple aroma with hint of vanilla. Taste of fruity apple, apple peel, vanilla, light wood, a touch of syrup. Somewhat warming going down but it doesn't taste like a 8.4% cider. Decent

Bottle from lowcostbeer.com. Clear gold, brief fizz. Sweet sugary aroma with elderflower and apple skins. Taste is also sweet although not overbearing with crisp apple juice, floral elderflower. Light bodied, spritzy. Its ok.

Bottle from lowcostbeer.com. Another 4% exact flavoured cider - I'm sure this is something to do with tax but if one day I saw one at 3.9 or 4.1 I would do a little jig. Pours a clear light red colour, no head. Raspberry and dry apple skin aroma. Taste has a fruity but slightly syrup driven raspberry with apple pith, sweet (but not overly) medium bodied and slick with a low carbonation. Its ok.
