Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Bottled. Pinkish colour with no head. Aroma is blackberries, apples, some mild fructose sweetness. Flavour is blackberries, apples and some slight toffeeish tones. A bit bland, but has the right elements to it.

Cask at Euston Tap. Hazy medium gold. Still. Funky, tart nose, ripe apple, pickles, touch of oak. Tart, light sweetness, funk, light nail polish. Complex and good.

500ml bottle from Morrison's (Tiverton). Drank while house and dog sitting in Devon on 21st August 2023. Tasted and smelled of apples, BBD was smudged, so no idea how fresh the apples were.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Golden colour, some short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of apple, some core, earthy hint. Taste is sweetish, apple, pulpy, with skin & core, alittle acidity and tannin. Medium bodied, still carbonation, medium finish. Quite OK

28/7/2023. From BIAB at the 33rd Ipswich Beer and Cider Festival. Pours clear bright golden amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of sweet apple, caramel, berries, citrus. Quite sweet, touch of tartness. Moderate body, oily and watery, slightly prickly carbonation. It's okay.
