Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Clear pale golden coloured body. Zesty apple aroma. Cask so no carbonation but cloying apple tastes & quite zesty on the finish. Quite good.

18/7/2024. From BIAB at the 2024 Chelmsford Summer Beer & Cider Festival. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is semi-sweet apple, citrus, caramel, vanilla, slight funky edge. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness and tartness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Dry lightly tannic finish. Best cider tried at the festival.

0.5 l bottle from 'DeBiersalon.nl', best before March 2025. Clear, golden with a few white bubbles on top of it. Sweetish, a bit sourish, quite fruity and a little funky aroma of ripe apple, wood and some walnut. Quite sweet, a bit sourish, rather fruity taste of ripe apple, wood, hints of pear and a touch of walnut, followed by a short, minimally tart, slightly dry finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Pleasant cider, even if a little sweet.

Golden pour, decent carbonisation. Right mixture between tartness and sweetness - enjoyed it.
