[Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Stockholm] Very black, creamy firm head. Aroma of chocolate and licorice. Full bodied and velvetty soft, surprisingly dryish for it’s size. Mild, yet rich flavours of chocolate and caramel. Lightly tarry finish with fairly low bitterness.

Bottled at Plain Kitchen, Gothenburg. Very dark brown, with a small tan head. Chocolate, coffee, licorice, well-roasted malt and some hops in the aroma. The flavor has chocolate, coffee-beans, some hops and hints of sweetness. Full-bodied and mouth-drying. Long finish with dark, bitter chocolate. Lovely aroma, good flavor. Rating: 8-4-7-4-15-3.8.(060824)

On tap. It’s a next to black beer topped by a finger-thick beige head. Roasted nose with some chocolate, licorice, a little alcohol, subtle lemony hops and a vinous feeling. Salty licorice notes in the mouth, but mostly heavily roasted. Some alcohol, chocolate, coffee and resin too. Full-bodied and dry. The finish is dry and roasted, with citrus and some chocolate. Quite lovely. (090529)

RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. ABV was 9.0%. Pitch black colour, low tan head. Lovely vinous oaky aroma with raisins and roasty notes. Roasty flavour with coffee and oaky (fortified wine) notes. Simply an excellent beer from my favourite Swedish brewery.

On tap at The Rover, Gothenburg. Clear, copper-colored beer. Sweet, malty aroma with lots of hops and resin. Bitter and sweet flavor, very hoppy, with pine and citrus. Sweet, full body. A bit too much on the hoppy side, lacks balance. From bottle at Haket, Gothenburg: more fruity I think, but with the same long, piney finish. (060824)

On tap at The Rover, Gothenburg. Clear, dark brown beer with a beige head. Smoked aroma with notes of un-fried bacon, roasted malt and burnt malt. Sweet flavor with smoked malt, dried fruits and bitterness. Full-bodied, a bit sticky mouthfeel, and a long, bitter finish with a good dash of sweetness. A really nice smoked beer with quite a lot of bitterness, which is nice, in my opinion. (060824)
