Unclear amber with a lasting creamy off-white head. Fruity aroma with blackcurrant, winegum and herbs. Fruity sweet flavour, some hop flavour and a bitter, dry finish. Rather strong carbonation which adds to an impression of an American beer, with English hops

Draught at Rover, Göteborg
Hazy orange-copper color; there is a persistent layer, creamy. It has a wonderful hoppy aroma, fruity, sweet, flowery; after a few minutes it develops a more evident apricot aroma too, apricot jam and other perfumy yellow fruits (dry hopped with Cascade). It has a medium body strength and a very smooth mouthfeel; there must be a strong toffee flavor, but it’s just swept away by the extreme hopping, that gives highest bitterness, fruits and some resins. Technically, it’s unbalanced, but so good…

2006 vintage Huge, dense, very dark-greige head over jet-black beer. Some shards of lace despite all alcohol. Superb winey, vinous nose, with nuts, cocos, moccha, cacao, whisky, rum, dark fruit, fuselalcohols, fresh vanilla and new oak barrels. Impressive. Chocolate flavourS - mix of milkchocolate and full black; rum, but a better kind than I’ve ever tasted; surprisingly sweet, with a vanilla icecream touch, plus a good dot of moccha icecream. Dark rock candi sugar, very little wood, but lots of ethanol & higher alcohols. Liquid black chocolate on rumliqueur. WITH raisins drenched in honey. Utterly viscous, slick as none, soothing best bar none. Comparing this to Westvleteren is utter nonsense. I never believed in the idea "dessert beer" - until now. Westvleteren is (superb) beer, full stop. Thomas D, eternal gratitude!

Small brown lasting head. Opaque black body. Sweet perfumy licorice aroma with roasty malty notes. Dry-sweet dusty licorice taste with delicate peppery hop notes. Sooty, with spicy hops. Slightly watery, but with excellent depth for such a light beer. Delicately harmonic and balanced. Very nice! (0.5l draft at Bishop’s Arms, Avenyn, Göteborg.)
