Description
Visit the world’s first LEED certified microbrewery housed in a refurbished historic funeral home in the East Hills neighborhood. Live the Bon Vivant with neighbors, brewers, and monks alike enjoying rustic farmhouse inspired beers alongside European inspired cooking from our scratch-kitchen.

We are excited to share our passion for beer, food and sustainability with you. Much of the inspiration behind Vivant comes from the small breweries that dot the countryside in Southern Belgium and Northern France. Often, those breweries are true beer artisans who are also an integral part of their community. They experiment with unique yeasts and local ingredients, always with an artistic eye to their creations. Sourcing ingredients locally makes their beer pair exceptionally well with a meal of locally sourced produce, meats, and cheeses. Brewery Vivant promotes living the good life by brewing farmhouse inspired beer, serving a from-scratch menu, and building a sustainable community one beer at a time.

From City Brew Tours, canned March 26th 2023.

Pours a clear a medium gold with a good head of foam that shrinks fairly slowly, lacing is good.

It smells hoppy, duh, it is dry hopped, with notes of pine and grapefruit citrus. There's also an indicator of tropical fruit.

The taste is grapefruit citrus, pine, cracker malt, tropical fruitiness I mentioned in the smell is kept in check, which I like. Bitterness is a tad more, imho, than moderate as per the label.

Good mouthfeel, interesting IPA. If it was available locally, I might visit it from time to time.

From City Brew Tours. Canned March 23rd 2023.

It pours a clear light gold with a nice head of foam, good lacing, good head retention.

The smell is hoppy as in light grass, malty with notes of toast and a smidgen of sweetness.

The taste has a good grassy hop bite, toasted malt, hints of lemon, not very grainy as it's an all malt Lager. Kind of reminds me of Michelob only with more flavour.

Good mouthfeel, excellent Lager. I don't know aboot it representing the Helles style.

In the box from City Brew Tours. Canned March 7th 2023.

It pours a clear red/amber with a finger of foam, lots of lacing.

Big citrus notes in the smell with some fruity notes of pineapple.

Taste is grapefruit citrus, pineapple, some caramel malt, nice balance with the hops and malt. Still, I reckon that it's a west coast style IPA.

Medium bodied with good carbonation and very smooth and easy drinking.

Excellent!

Can from Tavour. Pours darkish copper/amber with a slight head. Aroma of dark malt, coriander and bourbon. Arguably full bodied. Flavor matches aroma but add heat. Not dry. Bitter, perhaps with the help of heat. Non-musty oak notes. Hint of astringency. Delicious, tho quite hot.

Bottle that has peacefully sat in the back of the fridge for ages. Pour is far darker than expected... kind of a coppery amber. Head is minimal and aromas are indicating that maybe this would have been better a year ago - or maybe it was always like this. Just a touch of apple cider vinegar, some cardboard (too much aging?), a bit of cherry... but the whole thing is kind of washed out on the nose. Flavor is similar... it's decent, especially after it airs out a bit, but it is kind of bland and it has a slightly medicinal edge to it on every other sip. Decent, but not a great one.
