Cloudy brown body with garnet highlights under a thin tan head. Complex aroma of brown sugar, vanilla bourbon. The flavor is well balanced and follows the aroma. Some alcohol. Well balanced overall.

Can - pour is clear, effervescent gold, with a thick, soapy lace - straightforward aroma of lightly sweet pils malt and spicy, grassy saaz hops, with just a touch of toasted grains from the hint of Vienna malt - simple and inviting - soft carbonation in the mouth - leans toward the German end of the pils category - moderately sweet, clean pils malt up front - gets a bit grassy through the middle, gaining a slight richness from the Vienna malt - the bite of the saaz arrives near the end and lasts through the finish - herbal and lightly spicy - a clean and mostly well executed pils - a tad sweet for my taste, but this may earn a spot in the BBQ lineup this summer.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass, trade from cavie. Pours a clear pale yellow with small white head that dissapates quickly. Highly carbonated in the center, light watery body, thin texture, and virtually no lacing. Taste is slightly yeasty wheat and some sour tang. Dissapointing even for an american hefeweizen.

Bottle @ Hotelroom, Denver. Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma of hard roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, light smoke. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, dark fruit, plums. Medium body, soft carbonation . Surprisingly light and easy drinking porter, would have thought different juging from the aroma only. 050411

Shared this bottle with a few friends, received in trade from RickSawyer, thanks for the opportunity. This bottle had about a year’s aging on it at the time of review. Pours a medium dark amber with a fluffy off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of sweet malts, lots of caramel some toffee, slight citrus hops. Taste is a bit citrus and caramel not a whole lot of depth here. Certainly tasty but kind of one dimensional. Body is a little thin for the style, carbonation is medium, mouthfeel is creamy/syrupy. Alcohol is certainly well hidden. Nothing offensive here, certainly tasty, but there are much better Barleywines out there.

Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, brettanomyces, caramel, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, lemon, caramel, alcohol, and wood, leading to a lemony finish.
