A light orange colour, a head is blond and very small. Aroma has grapefuits, grain, only hint of sweetness, some mangos and notes of vegetables. Taste has strong grapefruits, then also caramel, some pine, quite strong bitterness but that’s not very long lasting. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Again, not totally pure beer from Pyynikki but now that’s not bothering much. Grapefruity.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 1/2017, 20160204) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had citricness, grass and creamy toffee. Palate was medium bodied and warming with quite high carbonation. Flavours were citricness, grass, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy and bitter. Aroma was pleasant but the booziness and fizziness spoiled the drinkability.

330 ml bottle at home as Pyynikin Vahvaportteri, thanks to VastActiv. Black color with beige head. Malty aroma, light roasted, some grainy notes, bready, some licorice. Sweet and bitter taste, more intense than aroma, coffee, licorice, caramel, bready again. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Empiiristä tutkimusta: vertikaalina alkuperäisen oluen kanssa. 4kk tuoreempaa (BBE 8/16) ja se maistuu. Täähän on jopa yllättävän hyvää.

(Draught at Black Door, Helsinki, 14 Dec 2015) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate, liquorice and a touch of vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee, black rye bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced stout. Nice one.

330ml bottle (BBE 4/16) (vertical with re-labeled Solita Matkaopas, BBE 8/16), thanks rosenbergh & our company beer club!
Pours copper orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of grassy English hops, hints of caramel, earthy notes, bready maltiness and hints of biscuits. Taste is smooth, earthy and caramely with hints of biscuity malts, toffee, hay and fresh English hops. Finish is smooth, crisp and earthy with hints of hay, caramel, grassy bitterness and fresh English hops. Okay. You should definitely drink this one as fresh as possible, since just 4 months more age will make this a lot worse -- a lot of the hoppiness is gone and some strange stingy vegetable notes are coming in.
