Can (6/29/20) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits, Southington. Appearance is opaque dark yellow with trace sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width rocky foam head with excellent retention and nice leggy lacing. Aroma is spicy citrus, tropical fruit. Taste is tropical fruit, tangerine, citrus, milder cracker and yeast; bitterness. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and dry lingering yeast and bitterness. Overall, a little old so hops may be muted. Tropical aroma and taste is not the brightest but enjoyable. Decent complexity.

Pours hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of guava and melon. Taste has bitter orange, citrus, guava, peaches. Palate has citra tingling on the nose with a boozy feeling on the back of the throat. Really good.

16 oz. can shared by tfontana, proper social distancing at 14 feet away on my back porch. Nice chocolate, rye, roast in the nose. Flavor is the aroma with a nice fuller body with ABV completely hidden. I was shocked when Tom said 9.4%! Quite good.

Can pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is opaque black with no apparent sparkle, nice viscosity, finger-width light brown head with decent retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt on the earthy side, rye. Taste follows aroma exactly. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, well crafted and strong flavor and aroma. Not super complex but a nice departure from super sweet impys. No sign of alcohol.

Pours hazy orange with a thin white head. Immediate aroma of guava and oranges. Taste has soft tropical notes, simcoe and citrus hops, soft melon notes on the tongue. Palate has light pine elements on the nose. Good.

Can (2/19/20) pour. Appearance is opaque orange-tinged yellow with excellent sparkle at the edges of the glass, 2-finger white foamy head with good retention and fair soapy lacing. Aroma is, upon initial opening, moderately strong lemony citrus and nondescript sweet fruit--apple? melon? grape? berry?; strength moderates a bit as it warms and late yeast and bread qualities. Taste follows aroma but fruit precedes the citrus hit and a bit stronger. Maybe a hint of herb late as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, fairly thick texture, lively carbonation, decent alcohol warmth in the esophagus, late acidic kick, and dry, lightly bitter finish. Overall, the elements are all here for the style but aroma could be a bit stronger and both would benefit from the flavor being a bit more identifiable.

16 oz. can in a trade with tfontana, thanks Tom for the opportunity! Canned 02/19/20. Aroma has boulder citrus and mild grass. The flavor carries over bolder citrus and a soft malt base. The finish is a slightly astringent Simcoe pine like hop. The pine gets more harsh as it warms. Eh...

Can (10/29/19) pour. Appearance is orange-yellow with tons of effervescent sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with decent retention and mildest lacing. Aroma is strong, sweet fruit, spicy. Taste is passionfruit, citrus bite. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, lively carbonation (biting the tongue), hint of alcohol warmth deep in the esophagus and finish as taste. Overall, strong and enjoyable aroma and flavor but not complex. Hops just out of peak freshness so may be better fresh.
