I’m a big fan of Citra so when I spotted this at Kyoto Isetan for 6 bucks I pounced. It’s also been awhile since I’ve had a Knee Deep beer! Knee Deep Citra Lights Single Hop Pale Ale 5.5% 30 IBU Matte gold with a dense off-white foam and big fruity Citra bouquet. Quite full bodied with a stinky bitter Dank fruity hop profile. A bit more bitter than I’m used to these days, classic APA type bitterness. Good stuff.

Can, 0.457l. Aroma of ripe mango, citrus, melon, flowers and resin. Pours cloudy golden color with thin creamy off-white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet caramelly, resinous and herbal, following is medicinal and bready, mouthfeel is spicy and astringent, while finish is heavy bitter. I didn’t think I could possibly like a 14.5% ipa as generally anything over 10% tends to be way too malty for my liking and lack balance. Deep golden amber color. Amazing,
Slightly sweet, nose of marmalade, cake, all spice and apple pie. Super thick full bodied with full on hop and malt assault. The same intense notes in the nose remain there in the palate. Super full bodied. Amazingly this only show a bit of warmth in the finish but generally the alcohol is well hidden. Marmalade and cake last. It’s totally drinkable and the half pint I go is going down way too fast. This is a masterpiece to pull off 14.5% abv. Super impressive.

Knee Deep Tree City Haze 7% Fairly clear fir a hazy but it’s got the juicy aroma you’re looking for. Fairly full bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is juicy with some woodsy bitter pine in the finish. Really quite nice.

12 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is fresh, with gentle, vibrant piney hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is bright, with vibrant piney hops and crisp biscuity malt. Crisp and clean. Very drinkable and good.

Tapo at Takanoya. Slightly hazy amber-orange. Nose is light caramel malts, resins, citrus hops. Crisp and malt, resiny, citrus, slightly roasty, a perfect amber. First in ages and it goes down nicely.
