Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

Draft pour. This beer is pretty bitter overall. Not an attractive aroma. Some decent roasted flavor, but its short. Not really for me.

Bottle pour. Pours a light amber. Pretty boozy aroma with a lot of floral hops. Very smooth flavor with a lot of pine. Pretty sweet finish. Pretty good.

Bottle thanks to Prufrockstar. Pours brown with tan head. Nose and taste of toasted coconut, toasted chocolate, cola sweetness, cocoa and light nutty malt. Light bodied porter. Easy drinking.

Draft pour at 192. Very light pour with little head. Hints of banana flavor. Happened to be in the mood for something lighter, and overall I thought this was a great beer.

Bottle, 2011 vintage courtesy of 5000 – thanks. Glowing amber color with a thin ring of beige head. Classic aroma of a lightly aged barley wine; subdued floral hops, sherry, caramel, and toffee. Good weight, a slightly heavy body. Still a little life left in the floral hops, more sherry, and caramel. Finishes a little dry, but still a fine sipper.

What seems to be a capped 750 from Malt & Vine. (7.4%) Biere de Garde - aka Pale Ale Belgian Style with brett! Pours hazy orange gold with a transient white head. Aroma is light brett. AKA sweatsox. Med +body. Sort of fizzy carb. Starts real spritzy brett, quickly moves on to less spritzy brett. Brett ever in the nose. Brett ever in the quaff. It’s not going to kill taste buds, it’s only moderately sour. BUT IT IS ALWAYS BRETT. Damn good thing. Swear this is being underrated. What a nice surprise on a Saturday evening after a rather meh Scandinavian ale. Yum.

Bottle with thanks to glkaiser! Pours a crystal clear amber with a medium creamy beige head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is light overall with notes of citrus, herbs, yeast, pine, Brett. Flavor is bretty, citrus, pine, light sweetness, herbs, light plus bitterness. Medium body, but a nice oily mouthfeel. This is really a Belgian IPA IMO, but it is nice. The Brett character rivals Anchorage in its quality. I am a big fan of this one.

Bottle thanks to glkaiser; bottling date 09/16/13. Pour is crystal clear orange, small off-white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, passionfruit, cat piss, dank dank. Flavor is the same, but not unfortunately as clean as the aroma, light sweet, light bitter, pine resins and a bit of rye bite. Medium body, a bit oily. Nice effort.
