440ml can from Home Bargains, Portishead. Pale gold in colour, with a slight haze and short-lived, white, head. Dryish aroma of tropical fruits and citrus hops. Complicated flavour, with some sharpness, floral notes, lychee, white pepper and pine, leading to a lingering, bitter finish. An impressive bargain beer - well done brewer and commissioner.

440ml can. Poured an unclear golden blonde colour with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is big vanilla, nutty and caramel. That’s the good part. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a crisp, sweet saccharine, nutty, herbal, aromatic, light citrus vanilla palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I almost fell of my chair at the first sip, but if I’d taken the time to read the big words on the front of the can I would have been a little more prepared. Well it’s kind of a big aromatic saccharine bomb. Not sure this alcopop really deserves to be called a pale ale. It’s not bad, but not really what most people would call a beer and most beer drinkers long for bitterness, with the occasional sour, coupled with a big boozy imperial stout every once in a while. I’m not so sure there’s room in my fridge for a “beer” like this. It wasn’t drain poured. It’s not bad, it’s just not for me. Someone else, somewhere in a galaxy far far away, will be calling this the best beer ever. I’m looking forward to meeting them, where we will spend an afternoon talking about flower arranging or maybe Brexit, but absolutely not beer!

The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, malt, mineral, stone fruit, light passionfruit, mango, woody, dry pepper spice hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

440ml can. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt and light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a crisp, malt, light toffee, light lemon citrus, woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Cheep and cheerful but actually not too bad at all!

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A murky amber pour with a suspension of dark particles (ground coffee I hope!) and a thin white head; aroma of coffee and vanilla; smooth in the mouth with a coffee taste and some sourish malts; then a bitter finish with a touch of vanilla,

440ml can: BB 10th October 2023. Drank at home on 8th February 2023. Mini haze in the golden body, decent white head. Nice aroma and taste, great value for the money, citrus front with a piney twist and a tropical fruit flavour that holds a pleasant bitterness.

Can from Home Bazargains Westhill. It pours light hazy deep gold with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tangy tropical fruits and citrus, candied lemon, line, grapefruit and biscuit. The taste is crisp, dry, firm, snappy, prickly, pithy, zesty, lemon, lime, grapefruit, touch of tangerine, grain, biscuit and peppery spice with a drying, kinda grainy finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Wish the malt base was a bit cleaner, but it's not bad overall. Drinkable enough.

440ml can; BB 7th October 2023. Drank at home on 25th January 2023. Slight haze to the light golden body, decent white head. Citrus nose and taste with a mild malty marmalade like flavour. Not bad for a cheap supermarket beer.
