15/IX/20 - 50cl bottle from the client brewer, shared @ ElManana’s Lobster BBQ Tasting, BBE: 2021 (2020-916)
Pretty clear orange beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: oxidized, fruity, some banana, rum notes, almonds, esters. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of alcohol, rum, sweet, caramel, some ripe banana, more alcohol. Aftertaste: bit sweet, yeasty, some honey, bit oxidized, malty, soft bitterness, alcohol, good stuff!
Paired really well with a BBQ grilled lobster with garlic butter!

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of oak, red grape, malt, burned caramel, chocolate, licorice and yeast. Taste has sweet burned caramel, creamy marshmallows, oak, vineus red grape, some bitter juniper chocolate, licorice, malt and fruity yeast esters. It's a bit in between a quad and a stout. Bit too much carbonation. Not bad at all.

8 July 2020. Random Wednesday Tasting; cheers to Anke & Tim! Hazy dark brown, quickly thinning, frothy, tan head. Aroma of pear syrup, date paste, wet oak, rum-soaked raisin, red (some green) apple, calvados, plum, dark toffee. Taste has sweet toffee, date & raisin, ripe plum & pear giving off a phenolic whiff, some bitter clove with a yeasty-estery red apple accent. Malty finish, soft peppery hops, lots of dried fruits, wet wood in the end & heating brandy & calvados alcohol. Medium body, oily-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Typical as a Belgian Quad, not very refined as a 'BA' but I can appreciate this kind of beer.

Bottle. Brown pour, gusher. Aroma of candi sugar, molasses, raisin, vanilla, dates, figs, caramelised malt and fruity yeast esters. Taste has sweet caramelised malt, raisin, vanilla, candi sugar, figs, molasses, maple, fruity yeast esters and a boozy finish. Bit high on carbonation. Nice quad, I like the fruity malty flavors, less carbo and a thicker body would have made this better.

Black with fizzy head. Aroma and flavour have loads of dark, bitter roasted malts. Some sweet coffee too. Too fizzy.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Dades, vanilla and marzipan in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, with caramel, oak, vanilla, dades. Low on Carbon. Hint of licorice, coconut. Not particularly complex, but pleasant and drinkable.
