Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of coriander, orange peel and paradise grain is quite sublime with light caramel malt notes and some residual sugars. Taste is also dominated by grain of paradise with some orange peel and some light coriander with light caramel malt. Body is about average with good carbonation. I really enjoyed this beer and probably the best I tried from this brewery with great balance between all ingredients.

Bottle: Poured a dirty amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of grainy malt with light citrus notes and some dry hoppy notes. Taste is sweeter than expected with a large dose of caramelized malt with a dry finish which kind of clash with the sweeter malt notes. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation. Sweeter then I like my saison but the dry finish is quite enjoyable.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep ruby copper color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big pear, apple, lemon zest, orange peel, tangerine, grapefruit, light banana, clove, pepper, caramel, honey, candi sugar, toast, floral, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop, malt, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big pear, apple, grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, citrus rind, grape, caramel, honey, candi sugar, toast, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of pear, apple, citrus, citrus peel, caramel, toast, honey, candi sugar, clove, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice balance and complexity of citrus hop, malt, and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a good malt/yeast balance and minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full bodied; with a very slick and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Belgian strong pale ale. All around nice balance and complexity of hop, malt, and yeast ester flavors; and quite smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with light retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of citrus hops with quite a bit of residual sugar with light spicy notes. Taste is also dominated by citrus notes with light spicy yeast notes and an overly sweet aftertaste. Body is quite full with carbonation that is a bit too low for style and no apparent alcohol. Original concept of this beer appears interesting but lack of attenuation and overly sweet finish ruins it for me.

Sampled at GBBF 2013, London - Day 2. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a fine, white cream head. Pithy citrus in the nose, lemon and mild grapefruit. Light sweet flavor, somewhat juicy but still has dried citrus and bitter fine. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Clean finish with more pithy citrus, some zesty lemon, more grapefruit. Nice beer.

On draught at the hotel in San Diego. Black pour with a medium foamy beige head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Chocolate, coffee and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted coffee, dark malts and semisweet chocolate. The finish is chocolatey with a burnt malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
