Bottle at THE stouts tasting part 2, thanks to Ken. It pours cloudy deep orange with a small off-white head. The nose is spice, celery, pear, apple, light tartness and icing sugar. The taste is toast, earth, hay, sweet pear, apple, banana, spice, alcohol warmth, sugar, pepper and honey with a pretty hot finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Sweet and hot are not what I’m looking for (in a beer).

Stouts and Porters II. Cloudy amber beer, off white head. Palate is light and a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light sweet dry malts, fair amount of sweet aniseed alcohol. Sugary sweet dried fruits and a does of paint stripping ethanol. Has a kind of ramped up Tripel sweetness here but there is way too much obvious alcohol.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, London during The Stouts Tasting, Pt. II - many thanks to Ken-O. Pours hazy, red-gold with a modest, foamy white head. Lots of yeasty, sugary malts in the nose, suggestions of banana, candi sugar. Huge sweet flavor, lots of alcohol, some bitter pine needles and grass, sugary dough, yeast. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm to hot finish, bubblegum, sugary doughy bread, light white wood, syrupy sugars, dry banana. It is way too sweet and heavy; not a joy to drink during the twilight of a big stouts tasting, but I suppose there is a time and place for a beast like this. (19 March 2013, score: 3.3)
Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds lightly aged pine, crackery pale malts, ripe orange. Big sweet flavour, boozy, a bit harsh, with more bread and pine needles. Full bodied with average carbonation. Hot finish, with grainy pale malts, peach, pale bread. OK. (August 2015, score: 3.3)

Capped 750 from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy dark amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma of Belgian fruit esters. Full bodied. Foamy carb. Flavor is earthy, spicey, hints of banana and clove (or maybe quite a bit more than hints), arguably malty. It’s dry though and it is quite substantial in flavors. The fruit flavor aspects vary through the finish. Never losing its earthy yeasty spicy characteristics.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours an opaque black with a vague orangey tint and a dense and frothy light brown head. Rustic, roasty nose. Medium body, sweet chocolate, somewhat rustic and "old" and slightly unclean. Malty bitter finish. 250213
