Really nice balance of coffee and honey.
Batch 2: April 19 2025, Had side by side with espresso made with the same coffee beans as the mead, the cherry cranberry chocolate notes are all over the mead, delicious complexity wrapped up by sweet candy honey

I had the barrel aged version from a shared bottle. The cream cheese is noticeable if you know to look for it. the bourbon is not needed. Sweet with berries.

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a deep mahogany colored body and tosses up moderate legging. The aroma offers up sugar stewed cherries and then with a deeper pull there's thin layers of cinnamon and vanilla. The taste delivers rich deep stewed cherry goodness amid a sea of smooth slick honey sweetness. Toward midway a mild cherry fruity tartness emerges and grows into the finish. Another sip reveals faint cinnamon and vanilla banging around softly in the background. This has a pleasing balance of depth, richness and tasty fruity tartness. Solid.

On tap at Zymarium, pours a deep dark mahogany, no head. Nose is ridiculously rich, with intense black currant, raspberry, blackberry, and rich honey. Flavour is absurdly rich, decadent and elegant, with an incredible expression of the aforementioned berries and honey. Super jammy, not too syrupy or sweet, just elegant and complex as hell. Damn.

On tap at Zymarium, pours a clear amber brown, no head. Aroma is not as decadent as expected, with lots of tart cherries and honey intensity. Flavour is very syrupy, rich and intense, with huge raspberry notes, honey, sugars, and booze. I actually don't think this is as refined or elegant as expected, especially not compared to the Endless Dark Ritual I just had. Still good but overrated and horrendously overpriced (even though I didn't pay for it).

On tap at Zymarium, pours a cloudy orange, no head. Aroma has boozy whiskey, subdued honey character, and light floral notes. Flavour is more dominated by the honey, with lots of syrupy sweet honey, floral notes and a touch of booze. A bit too cloying but it's tasty.
