50cl bottle from Bierkompass.de. Probably the ugliest label I have seen. Poured hazy, almost yellow color with a thin white head. Sour lemon aroma, spices. Flavor is salty and soury, baking soda perhaps or alike, very strange. Still something fascinating about it. High carbonation. My first Berliner Weisse. I think there are better ones out there. Just have to wait and see.

Bottled 500ml. -Trade with shrubber85 (thanks Roger!). Murky yellow coloured, small white head that went away fast, sharp acidic nose. The taste is also sharp acidic, yeasty and lemony with touch of barnyard near the end. Very refreshing and deadly drinkable beer.

Bottle received in a trade with shrubber85 (thanks!), shared with ogivlado. Poured a pale, dull murky yellow body with a small-medium white head that went away at a medium-fast pace. Acidic sharpish nose, bit malty, funky.Whoa, I didn’t know this was a Berliner Weisse! Nice refreshing acidic taste with some dry, noticeable malty notes, bit berryish. Refreshing. The acidity attacks the tongue. This is certainly a surprise. Quite balanced and drinkable for what it is. Some herbal and dry cracker notes in the finish counter the acidity and make this probably the best BW I’ve had!

Bottle, thx to Koelschtrinker. It’s a gusher, producing a milky yellow body under a big, rapidly diminishing, pillowy white head. The aroma is quite pleasant with cellar and lemon. Lemon sodapop, notes of cellar, a salty touch and some barnyard notes in the mouth. Medium to thin body, astringent mouthfeel. A really nice surprise, and very quenching. 091230

Bottle. Pours yellow in a marker pen shade. Very complex for a low alcohol beer. Citrus, banana, pineapple and baking yeast. Sweet and acidic like berrys of the forrest

500 ml bottle. Hazy yellow body with a huge white head. Aroma is refreshing acidic with a fruitiness somewhere between lemon and Bret. Flavor is also extremely refreshing, lot of acid, fruity lemonish and not so much more. Nice considering this low alcohol.

Bottle. Pours strange yellow with a big white head. Citrus, icing sugar, banana and pineapple in the aroma. Big taste for a low alcohol beer! Sour of citrus and berries at first, then sweet of pineapple and icing sugar. Small vinousity in the aftertaste. It is as refresing as complex!

2005 vintage shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours a hazy, bright yellow with a lacing, fizzy white head. Nose is awesome: tart, lemons, funk, earthy, wheat, grass. Flavor is puckering, tart, lemons, grass, funk. Heavy carbonation. Refreshing and spritzy. This was very nice, an exceptional berliner weisse. A favorite of those at the tasting.

Bottle. Musty, sour lactic acid and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy straw color with minimal head. Sour lactic acid, musty lemon, wheat malt flavor. Light barnyard aftertaste. Very gueuze-like, just a bit lighter. A great beer to drink on the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
