About
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.
Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

Pale blonde; smells like candy. Sweet elderberry flavours, candyish. This is kid's beer. Underneath there is some of those metallic hops and crystal malts as per St. Peter's house character.

Yellow coloured, light bodied ale with some bitterness. Somewhat malty, but I'm afraid the bottle has more character than the contents.

Black. Huge, bitter pine needle aroma. Plastic artificial aroma. Interesting but absolutely undrinkable. Tastes like Fernet-Branca. Thanks Oakes for bringing me this... Is this your payback for me bringing you the Munkbo Starkölsglögg? ;-)

Coppery, slight haze; herbal hops and a touch of caramel malt; crisply bitter, with good balance. Almost American in its robustness.

Light brown (very light colour for style, but probably appropriate for a traditional entire); almost sour aroma, treacly, with dark cherries and light coffee; interesting character - complex to the point where you can taste both the brown and pale beers that went into making this blend. Biscuity pale malts meet toasty dark ones, with distinct notes of Brown Malt.

Really ugly dark brown, no head. Oh this isn't funny folks - smells like effin' Jagermeister. Tastes like it too, only with the addition of bitter cooca, roots, twigs and the cheapest orange pekoe money can buy. It says you can mull it, and I hope so because it's undrinkable cold. Off to the nuker I go! Okay, it's foamed up now so that it at least looks like beer. The cinnamon jumps out of the mug a lot more now, along with alcohol and black cherry esters (or is this a Quelque Chose flashback?) Speakings of flashbacks, strong spiced ale in a stoneware mug takes me back to Tallinn and the fine spiced ales at Olde Hansa. OH shit this is awful! People talk about beers that are like tar well let me tell you something, you don't know tar til you've had this. The body is actually rather thin but the taste...you know when you brush your teeth and then drink orange juice right afterwards? Multiply that by ten and you're in the ballpark. Bov, Floris Chocolat has a rival.
