Description
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.
Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

opaque black, with a very small beige head. Aroma of dark fruity roasted coffee with hints of chocolate. Flavour is slightly hoppy with a big roasted malt back bone. Touches of dark ripe fruit, and more chocolate, finishes sweet, but dry. A very nice stout.

Clear amber/golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of malts, peat, oak, smoke. Flavour is similar, smoked ham and peat sweetness. This is a fair enough brew, but when it comes to beer meets whiskey, I much prefer a good barrel aged Imperial Stout.

Bottiglia.

Bottle from local bottle shop. Aroma is roasted malt, milk chocolate, creamed coffee, touch of smoke, and a little liquorice in the finish. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium and a bit creamy. Pretty rich and complex considering the abv, very enjoyable Cream Stout. Marvellous drinkability.
