Taste comprises peated malts, dried fruits, dates, smoky tones, sherry nip, vinous, spice, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Tidy peated BA affair.

Can from Cork and Cask. Pours oily black with no head to speak of. Aromas of wood, smoke and whisky, smoked meat, smoked salmon maybe. A hint of liquorice. Thick texture. Taste is boozy chocolate, warming spice, wood tannin and leather. Was hoping for some Tokaji vibes as I do like a good dessert wine now and again, but I'm not finding it. Good gear nevertheless.

440ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Jan 24. Cheers Simon for this. Last beer of the night. Pitch black pour, beige head. Huge coconut and tonka aroma from the off, providing a tantalising glimpse of the big flavoured beer to follow. Lots of coconut, lots of vanilla, lots of tonka in a thick unctious bodied stout. Creamy with a pleasant heaven hill influence. Serious stuff.

8th January 2024, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five guys and loads of beers! Cheers Simon for the 440ml can of this, my last beer of the evening, train to catch and all that. What a cracking finish to the session, pity I had to rush my sample. Lush body feel, slick and oily black colour, tanned head. Vanilla and tonka beans with a chocolate overtone, just lovely.
