Description
Purchased by Tilray in 2022.
Our story started in 1998 with two friends who noticed a lack of fresh beer on Long Island and wanted to lower their bar tabs. We built a brewery on Long Island's South Shore in Patchogue, a tough and humble coastal town.
In 2014, Blue Point partnered with Anheuser-Busch, joining its family of craft brands in The High End business unit. Our operations, brewing and management team continue to be led from Patchogue, N.Y.
In 2019 we opened our new brewery on Patchogue's Main Street. This new facility will not only increase our brewing capacity, but will also lets beer lovers experience the people and place that inspire Blue Point every day. And we're pretty damn proud to be a part of that.

Bottle from Liz. Pours ruddy copper with a 3 finger creamy beige head. Aroma of mild roast malt with hints of spice. Flavor is sweet, lightly sweet, roast malt with very interesting chocolate and mild spice aspects. But it’s not an over the top sort of thing.

Bottle I brought to chriso Vintage Tasting. Pours clear, red-brown with a soft, off-white head. Decent roast/pine aroma. Medium sweet flavor, light plastic and pine bitterness, some citrus notes, slight grass, and roast. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with nice roast, lasting pine, dark sugars, dark malts. Lasting burnt sugars. Very decent.

Bottle at Chriso FullersGales tasting. Dark brown. Lasting beige. Smokey black ipa alright actually still suffers from some black ipa probs i.e. its a bit thin on the back end. Ok upfront but end fails

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 11/08/2011. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a thick cap that lingers. Some decent soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of apricot, caramel, toasted malt, bread, and light spiciness. Some decent malty aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of toasted malt, bread, caramel, light fruit, nuttiness, and floral spices. Fairly dry finish; but some lingering notes of bread, toasted grain, light fruit, and herbal spice on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming on the finish present. Smooth and easy drinkability. Good balance of flavors. Overall this is a solid and drinkable Vienna Lager offering. Good amount of flavor and balance.

When waitress stated this was a White IPA I was like what is that. But some how this combines an ipa an Belgian whit. Very fruity and bright with nice hopping. Maybe also some herbal and cloves. But its refreshing and a good effort from blue point

On cask at Blind Tiger. Pours with a thick black body and tan head that slowly fades. Aromas are bready, malty, chocolate, caramel, roast. Hop aromas are spicy and citrusy. Clean yeast wise. Flavors show a nice balance. Ashy, bitter, roasty bitterness with some hop bitterness, malty and bready. Very dry on the roast notes. Hop notes are of mild, generic citrusy hops and some pine. Light esters and fruit towards the finish. Creamy cask mouthfeel. Well conditioned with a nice mild carbonation, medium bodied.
