A colleague kindly agreed to bring me a beer back from Hong Kong. He brought this can. Gold. Bubbly. Head starts off frothy but soon ebbed away. Very sweet aroma. Chemical hints. On the sickly side. Sweet and sour. Some bitterness in the finish. Some syrupy fruit but also an industrial chemical element. Light b bodies. Watery but slick. Fizzy carbonation. The finish leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Another crappy lager.

Slightly golden coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of super metallic and pungently medicinal malt scents. Light-bodied; Malt showing along with a dose of rice sugars and nothing else. Aftertaste is very minimal, with some metal and grass and a lot of pungent malt throughout. Overall, a pretty mild beer throughout, but what is there isn’t very nice, actually. I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from FamilyMart in central Taipei, Taiwan for NT$35 sampled on the streets of Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017.

330ml bottle. Clear pale golden yellow colour with a minimal rapidly fading white head. Aroma: sweet grainy malt. Taste: same as the aroma, a touch corny, very little else to it. Light body, soft-medium carbonation. Typical macro lager.

From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Haizhu Ale". Bright yellow gold color. Big fluffy white head. Sweet malty nose. Malt flavor is fruity, yet bland.

Bottle from ASDA, Manchester. Pale golden with no head. Slightly soapy in its aroma, it has a slight smoothness to its texture, but less than average in taste.

330cl bottle at the Feb 2016 Shrewsbury beer share meeting. This rating is identical to another Beijing Gold I had in Feb 2015 but rated under a different brewery. Pale, extremely pale body, golden, clean and clear: no head and no collar worthy of the name either. Fizzy enough though, just doesn’t show it. Corny, grainy and sweet: not the worst lager in the world but getting there!

330ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, Feb 16, courtesy of Simon F. Many thanks. Pours clear gold, white head. Big sweetcorn aroma. Continues to the taste with some boiled veg and metallic notes. Not great.

Can in Macau, 4.1%. Fresh grainy beginning. Smooth, not too deep but round. Crisp on a drinkable body, fresh, no real bitterness but full bodied. Not too bad.
