Cask @ Fox And Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a creamy-frothy head. Easy hoppy brew with a notably decent body for its strength. Mild fruit notes prove a mild sweetness.

Cask @ Fox And Goose, Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark brown with an off-white frothy head. Decent enough stout, not particularly stated in its seasonal ingredients, coming across a little floral generally, but ok.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal scummy cream head. Roast malts and liquorice to the fore in the aroma plus some hints of vanilla. I’m not sure how to describe it in the mouth. Somewhere between sweet, bitter and sour but definitely fruity – maybe tart ? Anyway, there;s roasted malts, darks fruits and hints of blackcurrant. Sourness wins out in the dry finish. This is reasonable as a beer, but too weird for me !

Cask. Gravity pour. Steel City Beer Festival. Hazed gold. Wort and apple skins. Never remotely ready. Bit of a thing at this fest over the years. Grim. Poured it away.

Cask @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Hazy golden with a small head. Light in hops, fruit, flavour, but the sum of its parts are quite good, helped by a smoothness and session strength.

Halifax Beer Festival 2023. Barrel aged version. Black coloured ale. Underwhelming stout character but its wood character as a festival special in this instance is noticeable.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal off-white head. There’s roasted malts and nuts in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet with a somewhat watery texture, and a mainly malty flavour. Plus traces of caramel, spices and biscuits. Finish is slightly bitter and dry. It’s reasonable.

Cask @ Fox And Goose, Hebden Bridge. Clear slightly lighter golden with a creamy head. Hoppy effort but notably strong in taste too.
