Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours almost black with a medium sized beige head and good lacing. Liquorice and roasted malts can be found in the aroma. In the mouth it is smooth, sweet and creamy if a little watery. Plenty going on in the flavour however. Vaniila ot the fore with dark fruits and a touch of liquorice with roasted malts in the background. Finish is dry and malty. This is great - my kind of beer precisely !

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. A slight yeastiness in the aroma here – but not much else. Pretty bitter in the mouth though. Lots of pine, lychee, mango and grapefruit skin – but not too much citrus thankfully. Finish is dry and bitter. Quite nice with a proper bite to it.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby Pours a cloudy straw with a small white head. Vague hints of banana in the nose. In the mouth the texture is creamy and flavours of banana and bubblegum predominate, along with some lemon and hints of spices. The finish can only be described as yeasty. A fair imitation of the style, but not in the class of the originals.

Calderdale Beer Festival 2019, Halifax. Black with a thick frothy head. It’s smooth textured, light and inoffensive with its spice, which does produce a small fire in the palate.
