Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. There’s citrus and hints of pine in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet, malty and somewhat matery. Traces of lemon and lime, which gradually increase introducing some bitterness and hints of grapefruit and kiwi. Some stickiness in the finish. This is reasonable and quite refreshing, but a touch on the bland side.

Cask handpull at The Barrel Vaults St Pancras. Clear pale gold colour lasting white head. Light on malt a little perfumed in mouth. Some nettle hop. Light bitterness. I mean it lacks body. Good condition and temperature. Slightly astringent aroma. OK maybe. Not one I would seek out.

Cask at Horse & Jockey, Penkridge. Pours golden yellow with a sizeable foamy almost white head. Aroma is weak, and a bit of a mix – hints of floral hops, botanicals and berry fruits. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with floral hops again the mainstay, plus.. some underlying malts. Botanical, tonic water and tropical fruits come through later. Slight bitterness in the finish. It’s certainly unusual and quite reasonable.
