Cask at the King and Castle, Windsor. Poured a hazy amber with a frothy white head and some clingy lace with a few bubbles. The aroma is malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light cardboard malt, dry yeast, woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Too light and lacks defining flavours. Nice pump clip tho!

Cask at The Crosse Keys, Gracechurch St, London. As Nick Stafford’s Stallion Amber 4.2%. Pours amber brown with a lasting off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruit, biscuit and hop, with light floral notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, smooth, very soft carbonation. Decent malty bitter.

Handpull cask at the Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Amber, clear, with a smooth off-white head. Light malty aroma with even lighter citrus and a bit of grass. Bittersweet taste, very gentle and heading to a slightly more assertive bitter at the end of the sip. Long bitter finish with orange oil in the finish. Tasty but certainly at the plainer end of the spectrum.
