Description
The Alchemist is a family run brewery specializing in fresh, unfiltered IPA. John and Jen Kimmich originally opened The Alchemist as a 60 seat brew pub in the village of Waterbury in 2003. After eight years of success and growing popularity, they decided to open a small production brewery. Today The Alchemist currently operates two breweries in Vermont and distributes Heady Topper and Focal Banger throughout the state.

Golden ale with nice light malt aroma . Nice little malty number with light hops in finish. Pleasant light beer.

Deep ruby brown ale, no head. Pleasant hoppy and floral aroma, pungeant, sweet and vinous. Nutty IPA like porter with a good malt base, and very floral hops. Rich and lightly harsh body. Dec. 2004.

Deep dark brown ale with no head. Light chocolate and coffee beans. Good mouthfilling chocolate with lingering bitterness and powdery cocoa. Light but well balanced porter. Dec. 2004.

Dark brown ale with no head, light roasted nuts and caramel in aroma. Good nutty malt and caramel in mouth, sweet finish. Lighter bodied. Dec. 2004.

Red copper ale with a light white head. Light hoppy aroma fresh and resinous. Good malt base with light hops in mouth, crisp, lght piney notes. Lighter bodied but pleasant IPA. Dec. 2004.

Cranberry red ale with no head. Light cranberry aroma. Diluted beer with cranberry juice, tart berries. Light bodied. Dec. 2004. 5-2-5-2-8

A red burgunday red ale with a thin cherry head. A pleasant aroma of raspberries and lactic points. In mouth, a restrained berry with simple acids, a bit short but interesting. On tap at brewpub, Nov. 29 2008, Alchemist’s 5th Anniversary. 7-4-7-3-13
