Cask at the Great Western, Wolverhampton. First stop of the RB Black Country Bus Bash. Pours clear gold with a light, white foam head. Mild citrusy hop character, some dry bready malts sweetness. Light in body with fine carbonation. Lightly sweet to finish with dry, pale bread, some citrus rind. Tasty. A very serviceable bitter.

Great Western, Wolverhampton. Hand-pulled half-pint during the RB Black Country Bus Tour on 6 Jul 2013. Good golden look to the body: medium head that held. Floral to fruity nose with lightly baked malts giving an interesting though fairly weak aroma blend. The taste followed the smells, but stronger, pleasant but no world beater. Semi-sweet feel with a mild bitter finish.

Black Country Beano. Cask in the Great Western. Clear gold beer, tidy white head. Light palate, semi dry with fine carbonation. Mild marmalade hops. Light sweet malt. Light floral touch. Finishes dry with a marmalade bitter aftertaste. Third beer in the same pub that looks and tastes like a Golden, but says on RB it’s a bitter!
