Bottled 330ml ABM. "Columbus" 6.3%. Dark brown color, small beige head. Chocolaty aroma, some licorice and vegetably yeastyness. Medium-bodied. Dark chocolaty malts, coffee, a bit of tart side. Lingering alcohol in the aftertaste. Steady palate. Yeast is perhaps overpowering a bit too much but has potential.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear, rich and vibrant gold, somewhat effervescent, with a large and lasting off-white froth head. The aroma holds grassy and piney hops, some orange rind. Light to medium sweet flavor with a sturdy, fairly dynamic malt foundation, and some gritty pine, orange and earth. Light to medium bodied with average, caressing carbonation. Finishes resinous and gritty with some oily hoppiness, dry minerals, ripening orange, mild grapefruit. Boasts a pretty hefty character for its ABV. Good stuff.

Bottle at Colin’s 5K, thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy golden with a small white head. The nose is orange, mandarin, juicy mango, wood, varnish and a touch of pepper. The taste is orange, grapefruit, tangerine pith, varnish, earth, wood polish and some spice with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Nice citrus character. Rather tasty.

Bottle from Leighton at Colin’s 5K tasting. It pours murky amber with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is very soapy, bubble bath, grapefruit and lemon. The taste is soapy lemon, wood, earth, shampoo, varnish and a good deal of bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and foamy carbonation. Really far too soapy in my opinion. So-so.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours amber with a medium white head. The nose is piney, orange sponge cake, light spice, varnish, white grape and grapefruit. The taste is wood, earth, decent bitterness, varnish, grapefruit, light pepper and wood polish with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Taste doesn’t quite live up to great nose, but a good beer overall.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, thanks to Leighton for this one, 13/11/13. Hazed orange golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is citrus, bitter orange, light soap, grass, spice, bread dough. Taste comprises bitter orange, citric tang, grassy, hint of soap. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness in the finish. Ok GB, touch too much soap spoils it and brings out down a few notches.
